Our members aim is to promote pure bred Tenterfield Terriers; breeding true to type, genetically sound and of excellent temperament. We are all dedicated to the development of the breed, striving to breed the very best. Many have been breeding these great little dogs for well over 30 years.
We hold regular get togethers and field days. The annual Christmas party is a great hit with our families, especially the dog fancy dress section.
Since becoming an ANKC recognised breed in 2002, breeders can exhibit their Tenterfield Terriers at Championship Shows around the country. A great many of our Tenterfield Terriers have gained their Championship Titles and a few are now titled Grand Champions.
In 2007 the Tenterfield Terrier Club of Qld Inc., became an affiliated breed club with the CCC(Q).This means, holding regular Championship and Open Shows.
Another activity Tenterfield Terriers are becoming involved with is Lure Coursing and they excell at this sport. They are also gaining titles in Agiltiy, Obedience, Earth dog trials and Tracking.
These two Tenterfield Terriers are competing in Lure Coursing, this is very serious stuff for the dogs.
Below is Christine and John Bourke's Ch Tintenara Rum Runner (Rummy) and right, is Judy Davies' Tintenara Sierra Dream (Pippin). As you can see, both dogs enjoy this event immensely.
